Instant No-Cost Fix for Broken Laminate Countertop Edge?

Last Updated on 2023-08-14 by Tom

It is common for the edges of laminate countertops to be broken in many rental homes. They are eyesores, to say the least. Not to mention, if not fixed promptly, it may lead to much costlier repairs in the near future. However, the conventional method of fixing them starts with finding a matching laminate kit, which could cost you $20-30 if you’re lucky to find one. Then, it takes some skill and time to get it right. When it’s all done, a professional handyman could rightfully charge hundreds of dollars and hours of time

Here, we share an easy and cost-effective method that can be done in less than 5 minutes. It might not be the best solution, but it will do the trick to prevent the issue from spreading into a much bigger one, remove the eyesore, provide an overall decent look, and last quite a while as well. Without further ado, here’s how it can be done, and I’ll include a video at the end of the blog for your reference.

All you need is a piece of lino flooring, cut it with normal scissors to fit the broken area, then apply the “no more nails” glue that you can buy from Home Depot. Apply it to the broken area, then use a piece of towel to clean off the extra glue from the edge. Done. That’s it.

Watch the video below to see the before and after, and how it can be done in a real case. In this instance, it took us less than 5 minutes to complete – cost: a bit of glue, next to nothing, basically.

I hope this may help you in your landlording efforts. Enjoy the investment where we can all improve a bit, daily.
